Nova breakfast holds on to top spot, Botica’s Bunch up again at 96FM

The station enjoyed a slight uptick last survey after a challenging year. That momentum really gathered some pace in survey 8 with share jumping 2.3 to its second-best result of the year.

Breakfast with Clairsy, Matt and Kymba was up 1.4% pushing share back above 12% and closer to where they started the year. The demo growth came 18-24 and 55-64 with each up 2.7.

Share slipped a little this survey as Mix recovered, but Nova’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun retain breakfast leadership on 12.6% ending a remarkable year for the trio. Nova also remains #1 in drive with Kate, Tim and Marty.

Fred and Lisa have set a cracking pace since returning mid-year with Botica’s Bunch. The show has now had four consecutive surveys of growth, taking 96FM breakfast from 6.2% in survey 1 to 10.6% now. 96FM slipped slightly in morning and afternoon as Mix climbed ahead. 96FM is now the clear leader 40-54 with share up 2.8 to 20.6%.

Best breakfast share of the year for Heidi, Xavier and Pete with growth of 0.5 to 9.6%. Also up was drive and evening, with Hit 92.9 #1 FM in the latter. Noteworthy demo swing 18-24 where the stats say share was down 7.0 to 21.6% where the station somehow holds on as #1 commercial. (All that share seems to have gone to Triple J where its breakfast share rocketed up 8.1 to 27.6% in Ben and Liam’s last survey.)

Lowest breakfast share of the year for the station with 8.9% (-1.4) and lowest station share since last year. Afternoon and drive also dipped, but with much smaller shares than breakfast.

Best breakfast 4.6% (3.5%)

Breakfast was steady on 4.1% while all other dayparts improved with afternoon and drive each up 1.0.
