The Hit Network’s Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye have officially taken over the national Nights shift, with The Jimmy & Nath Show broadcasting 7-10pm weeknights across the network.

The news comes after last week's announcement that after 18 months, Abbie Chatfield had stepped down as host of Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield across the Hit Network, following the final episode which aired on Thursday 17 August 2023.

Starting their radio careers in 2015, Jimmy and Nath are best mates, radio nerds, and partners in crime who have gone from strength to strength during their time on the Hit Network, where they first found a home on Hobart’s Hit100.9, claiming the #1 Breakfast Show in 2021.

Moving to the national Hit Network in 2022, The Jimmy & Nath Show began broadcasting around the country for Weekend Breakfast, as well as being regular fill-ins for Carrie and Tommy in national Drive and most recently co-hosting Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield.

The pair has been nominated for six Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) since their radio debut, taking home Best Radio Show Podcast (2019), Best Community Service Project (2020), Best Radio Show Podcast Non-Metro (2022) and Best Multimedia Execution – Station (2022).

Jimmy and Nath said: “I can only imagine this is what Lizzie McGuire felt like when she stepped out on that stage in Rome. Nights of Australia we are coming for ya, we may not be ‘Hot’ but we can ensure ‘mildly adorable and kind of funny Nights with Jimmy & Nath’ will be worth a listen! This Is What Dreams Are Made Of…”

SCA chief content officer, Dave Cameron, said: “Jimmy and Nath are hugely exciting talent for SCA. We’re so delighted to see the boys continue to grow their national radio career and audiences, now formally taking over the Hit Nights shift nationally. Their hard work, raw talent and ridiculous antics continue to attract and grow a large and loyal listener following, and they will put their own incredible stamp on this important shift for the network.”
