Vance Joy lights up The Fox's World Famous Rooftop in Melbourne

Australian ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter Vance Joy took over Melbourne’s 101.9 The Fox World Famous Rooftop on June 22nd. The event was hosted by Hit Network’s Abbie Chatfield.

Performing five hit songs to 100 listeners and celebrating the release of his third album In Our Own Sweet Time, Vance Joy was the final act on The Fox’s World Famous Rooftop on Clarendon St, South Melbourne. Joy's was the last performance at the Rooftop before the studios move to Moray St, South Melbourne.

 Since launching his career with 2013’s God Loves You When You’re Dancing EP, Vance Joy has become one of Australia’s most successful singer/songwriters with a loyal fanbase globally. With 17 million monthly Spotify listeners, it puts him among the top 250 artists in the world on the platform. Now, Vance Joy releases his third album, In Our Own Sweet Time this Friday.

The Hit Network’s World Famous Rooftop has played host to some of the globe’s biggest acts including Justin Bieber, P!nk, Katy Perry, and Ed Sheeran.

Last month, Mediaweek spoke to The Fox’s Fifi Box about the station’s Brekky in the Burbs project.

“The last two years of lockdowns, particularly here in Melbourne, were so tough,” says Box. “We found through that whole period, people were coming to us organically and saying ‘thanks for getting us through this’. Having that companionship and connection on the radio through what’s going on in our city – it made me fall in love with radio all over again.

“The feedback has been phenomenal to a point where we know we’re going to keep going, these Brekky in the Burbs broadcasts will now be part of our show moving forward.”
