Box Office: Disney #1 as Raya and the Last Dragon keeps top spot

Raya and the Last Dragon has maintained its spot on top of the Australian box office after making $1.41m in its second week of release.

No new releases joined the top five this week as the top five also stayed in the same order during a stagnant week for Australian theatres. 

Overall, the box office brought in a total of $5.83m over the weekend which was a 13% decrease on last week.

#1 Raya and the Last Dragon $1.41m

Disney's latest big-budget release about a warrior princess and a young dragon has continued where it left off last week with an almost identical gross to last week. The film led by a predominantly Asian-American cast had an average of $4,142 on 342 screens, with its total now sitting at $3.34m.

#2 Chaos Walking $838,902

The dystopian fantasy film set in a world where people can hear men's thoughts has stayed in the #2 spot for the second week in a row with an average of $2,432 on 345 screens. The film now has a total of $2.35m.

#3 The Little Things $492,588

The crime thriller has now spent four weeks in the top five after amassing a total of $4.76m, this follows the film making an average of $1,804  on 273 screens.

#4 Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train $310,685

The anime film continues to chug along with its total now up to $3.34m after making an average of $1,992 on 156 screens.

#5 The Dry $275,695

The Dry has now spent 11 straight weeks in the top five as it edges closer to the $20m mark with a total of $19.82m, the film needs to pass the $21.76m set by Strictly Ballroom to be in the top 10 local films of all time. The film had an average of $1,121 on 246 screens.
