SCA chief content officer Dave Cameron has welcomed its strong start to the year in the Survey 1 metro radio ratings.

Cameron said: "It’s a fantastic day when SCA has the most listened to station in Australia, and today The Fox in Melbourne takes back that No.1 position with a huge weekly audience of 1.32 million listeners, driven by strong increases from Melbourne’s highest listened to breakfast show, Fifi, Fev and Nick growing to 669,000 weekly audience."

Cameron noted that the network's two brand new Breakfast shows have kicked off the year strongly. Mick Molloy joined MG on Triple M Sydney to deliver their largest Breakfast audience cume in eight years.

This is the first survey since Molloy jumped in the breakfast seas alongside Mark ‘MG’ Geyer. It’s positive signs so far for the pair, with the show lifting 0.8 points for a total share of 5.2% in Sydney. The station’s strongest demo continues to be 55-64, with a 7.0% share.

Meanwhile, in Adelaide, Bec and Soda rose almost two points to deliver SAFM’s best breakfast result in over a decade

"However, we simply couldn’t be happier with another brilliant No.1 FM Breakfast result in Adelaide for Roo, Ditts and Loz on Triple M, Adelaide’s favourite Breakfast show," he said.

"Nationally, The Marty Sheargold Show at 3pm continues its dominance of 25-54 men around the country, likewise Carrie and Tommy on the Hit Network have delivered strong results across the country," he praised.

Cameron said that their focus across the country in the year ahead is to continue delivering the biggest audience in their core commercial demographic.

"Today we’re rapt to again be No.1 25-54 All People nationally, alongside the Hit Network which is No.1 overall 25-54 and No. 1 Women 25-54, and Triple M No.1 25-54 Men nationally," he added.
