Sarah Michael has been appointed Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) national digital news editor, a newly created role.

Michael has most recently been the deputy editor of the Daily Mail Australia and has extensive experience in managing newsrooms in an online environment.

Michael will be responsible for creating a digital news strategy and workflow for SCA’s metro newsrooms around Australia, as well as identifying the tools needed to become market leaders in the digital news space. She will be based out of the Sydney news hub, commencing in May 2017.

SCA’s chief creative officer Guy Dobson said, “It’s an exciting time for SCA News as we invent how news is deployed on air and on line going forward.”
