SEN partners with ARN to bring AFL radio broadcast to South Australia

A big win for footy audiences in South Australia

The Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has today confirmed it will syndicate and sub-license a portion of its AFL radio AM rights with Adelaides popular AM station CRUISE 1323 for the 2023 and 2024 AFL seasons.

Sports Entertainment Network chief executive Craig Hutchison noted the partnership was a big win for footy audiences in South Australia. Hutchinson said: “To supply and partner Adelaide’s top rating AM station and have our AFL Nation calls heard across CRUISE 1323 for the first time is a tremendous outcome.

"At SEN SA 1629am we are about the fan and to take our calls to a whole new audience is a great outcome.”

This news comes off the back of news Mediaweek reported earlier this week that SEN has extended to 2024 its exclusive supply of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Radio. On the extension, Hutchinson said: “We are really proud of AFL Trade Radio which continues to evolve, innovate, grow and thrive.

“The entire team as Sports Entertainment Network is delighted to extend our partnership with the team at AFL Media and afl.com.au, building on more than a decade of growing unprecedented interest in our game,” he said.

“The audience has never been more educated and knowledgeable when it comes to proposed trades and free agency moves.

“We look forward to delivering all breaking news, in-depth analysis and perspective on AFL football’s ultimate product of hope: the AFL trade period,” Hutchinson added.

CRUISE 1323 is part of ARN’s Pure Gold Network, and it will broadcast three matches each weekend from SEN’s syndicated AFL Nation call. Popular drive show Sportsday with Malcolm Blight and David Wildy will also move to CRUISE 1323, as well as being simulcast on SEN’s own SEN SA 1629am.

ARN chief executive officer Ciaran Davis said: “Sport is such a huge part of the Australian psyche, and we are so thrilled to cater to listeners' wants and needs in Adelaide via this partnership with SEN.”
