Smart Investor magazine is now available inside The Australian Financial Review, with a cover story on how to "Invest like a black belt" and a special look inside advertising veteran Harold Mitchell’s investment portfolio, where he candidly discusses how his investment in the Big Banana almost sent him broke.
Smart Investor magazine will be available inside the Financial Review on the third Friday of every month and will continue to break news and deliver high-level investment analysis to a sophisticated and discerning audience.
Smart Investor editor James Frost said: “What makes the magazine different is a commitment to presenting the views of only the most respected and influential market professionals. Our cover story, for example, features key lessons on managing your investments from four professionals who control $310 billion in funds.”
This month’s Smart Investor also features a candid chat with former treasury secretary Ken Henry about the risks and opportunities facing Australian investors, Smart Investor’s guide to margin loans, a review of large cap stocks - bargain basement or a value trap, and the school zone property premium. The issue also includes a new column on investing in international equities, plus a new five-page section dedicated to SMSFs.
Smart Investor will double its potential audience as a newspaper inserted magazine, enhancing the offering to the newspaper’s readers and enabling advertisers to reach an expanded audience of sophisticated investors and high net worth individuals.
“We recognise that while Financial Review readers are highly skilled in business, finance and politics, in a world of fast-moving markets and frequent regulatory changes, they often need advice on how to manage their own personal finances,” Frost said.
Smart Investor magazine is the only magazine of its kind in the market and will provide sophisticated investors yet another reason to purchase the Financial Review on a Friday.”
Smart Investor’s website, afrsmartinvestor.com.au, and the daily e-newsletter will continue to break news that readers can act upon immediately.
The Smart Investor section in the Financial Review will continue each Wednesday featuring columnists including Wilson Asset Management’s Chris Stott and Forager Funds Management’s Steve Johnson.
