The Socceroos will continue their quest to qualify for a fifth straight FIFA World Cup with SBS Viceland broadcasting two qualifying matches live, free and in HD.

On October 15, Australia will play their third FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup qualifier when they take on Chinese Taipei at National Stadium Kaohsiung. On March 31, 2020, the Socceroos will face Nepal.

Both matches will air on SBS Viceland and will be simulcast in Australia via The World Game websiteThe World Game app, and on SBS On Demand

SBS Director of Sport, Ken Shipp, said: “We are pleased to be presenting the broadcast of these two important games. live, free and in HD. Australians love watching the Socceroos play – millions of fans tuned in to see them compete in the 2018 FIFA World Cup on SBS.

“Fans will now have the opportunity to see our Socceroos in their pursuit to qualify for Qatar, and will be treated to expert analysis and commentary from SBS’s trusted football experts, Craig Foster and Lucy Zelić.”

The Socceroos will play eight matches between now and June 2020, and need to finish as one of the eight group winners or four best runners-up to advance directly to the AFC Asian Cup 2023 finals and to progress to the next round of Asian qualifying for Qatar 2022.

In addition to Nepal and Chinese Taipei, Australia has been drawn in a group that also includes Kuwait and Jordan – with the green and gold defeating Kuwait 3-0 last month.
