Gravity Media Australia has announced its collaboration with the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and the Seven Network as the broadcast technology and production partner for the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

The partnership is Gravity Media Australia's 18th consecutive year of handling the complete television broadcast production for the iconic sailing event, set to commence from Sydney Harbour on Boxing Day.

The fleet, featuring multiple former winners, is gearing up for the 78th iteration of the 628-nautical-mile race, with 113 boats confirmed for participation.

Gravity Media Australia's role in the race will involve creating and producing the entire telecast, incorporating on-board cameras on specific maxis, on-water chase boat cameras, and comprehensive coverage via live helicopter and drone cameras. The Seven Network's Rolex Sydney Hobart commentary team, led by Sunrise's Mark Beretta, also includes names such as Peter Shipway, Jimmy Spithill, and Lisa Darmanin.

Coverage of the race's commencement will be broadcast across 7mate, Seven, and 7plus starting at 12:30 pm AEDT on December 26th.

Commodore Arthur Lane of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia expressed his satisfaction with Gravity Media's continued involvement, citing their leadership in delivering complex coverage of live sporting events. Lane stated, "Over recent years, there have been many advancements in technology and increased demands for more  complex coverage of live sporting events that Gravity Media has continued to lead the way in delivering."

Saul Shtein, director of production and content at Gravity Media Australia, echoed the sentiment. He expressed, "It is one of the great events and we thank the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and Seven for once again entrusting Gravity Media Australia to play a key role in delivering the coverage of the spectacular start of the race, and bringing viewers close to the action as more than 100 boats navigate and jockey their way around  each other in Sydney Harbour and through the Sydney Heads as they set sail for Hobart.”
