Day three of SXSW. Charlie Brooker, Adam Goodes, Nina Las Vegas and a lot of great music!

Dan Rosen of Warner Music, opened the From Stadium Anthems to Locker Room Motivation session with the quote, “There are only two ways to fill a stadium, sport and music”. Some might argue you could add Charlie Brooker at SXSW to that short list!

The insights Adam Goodes and Nina Agzarian shared from their respective careers created a fascinating session. The symbiotic relationship of sport and music and the collaboration opportunities for brands raised some interesting questions, particularly around how we need to promote more home grown talent in advertising campaigns and at sporting events. It will come as no surprise by now that AI got mentioned too - with the view that AI will give music artists more tools to create.

As a huge Black Mirror fan it was great to hear Charlie Brooker in conversation with Julia Zemiro. I didn’t actually take any notes from the session, it was one talk I wanted to sit and enjoy in the moment. Sorry.

Changing the world through Quantum Tech was a brilliant session hosted by the equally brilliant Michael Biercuk. I have never seen anyone explain quantum computing so simply and give examples of the opportunities the quantum revolution will provide. Michael explained how quantum technology which harnesses quantum physics as a resource is likely to be as transformational in the 21st century as harnessing electricity was in the 19th.

Essentially, all of the technology we see around us is powered already by quantum physics, but the means of building the technology is really quite rudimentary. It is exciting to think we have only scratched the surface of what's possible

With all the music attendees arriving and the sun shining it finally felt more like a festival. Even if you don’t have a SXSW ticket I recommend checking out the music events. The Young Henry’s stage at Tumbalong Park is well worth a visit and both the AMEX X Universal Music House and Spotify House were excellent.
