Sydney Radio Ratings 2023 Survey 8: Kyle and Jackie O end 2023 on top

2GB stays #1 overall to see out the year

After the back and forth between KIIS FM and 2GB throughout 2023, the Nine talk station has ended the year as the top Sydney station – despite a dip of 0.3 points and a share of 12.1%.

The Breakfast battle between KIIS FM and Ben Fordham has seen Fordham end the year in second place, recording a share of 16.0%. 

In her last survey before heading to Money News, Deb Knight in Afternoons recorded a share of 7.8%, up 0.7 points In the new year, the Afternoons spot will be taken over by Michael McLaren.

Ending the year as Sydney’s top FM station, ARN’s KIIS has stayed flat with an 11.5% share. KIIS has also kept the title of top cume with 1,431,000 – up by almost 100,000.

In breakfast, Kyle and Jackie O take the crown once again, up 0.4 points for a 16.7% share – extending their lead in the daypart after topping the last survey by only 0.1 points. This is the strongest survey eight result for Kyle and Jackie O in over seven years. 

In Drive, Will and Woody are up 0.1 points, staying second in the daypart with 10.9.

KIIS FM remains the top station in the 10-17, 18-24, 25-39, and 40-54 demographics.

Hot on KIIS FM’s tail, Nova’s smoothfm remains #3 in the market by only 0.1 points. A lift of 0.8 points brings the station share to 11.4%. 

In breakfast, Bogart Torelli and Ron Wilson were up 0.2 points for an 8.3% share, the show’s highest share of 2023. Drive has lifted 0.1 points to bring in a share of 11.1%, making it the top overall show in the daypart.

WSFM remains the #4 station in Sydney, up 0.4 points for a share of 9.0%. 

Rounding out their 18th year together, in breakfast, Jonesy and Amanda have lifted 1.1 points, producing a share of 9.5% as they remain the #3 program in the daypart.

Nova ends the year at #5 after gaining 0.7 points. The breakfast lineup of Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie stayed flat with a 7.1% share, while the Drive lineup of Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel was up 1.5 points for a 10.4% share – making them the third biggest show in the daypart.

Tying with Triple M to round out 2023 – but with the higher cume – 2Day FM has recorded a 5.2% share in the Sydney radio ratings after lifting 0.5 points. 

The Breakfast Shift with Hughesy, Ed and Erin has lifted 0.9 points, bringing in a share of 4.9% share. In Drive, Carrie and Tommy were up 0.1 points for a 6.0% share.

Ending the year tied with 2Day FM, Triple M has dipped 0.2 points for a share of 5.2%.

In breakfast, Mick Molloy and Mark ‘MG’ Geyer are sitting at 5.3% after lifting 0.7 points. Drive was down 1.1 points.

A dip of 0.5 points saw 2UE record a 3.5% share. The station’s biggest demo was 65+, with a 10.2% share.

Best Breakfast 2.3% (1.4%)

Dipping 0.5 points and 83,000 in cume, Sky Sports Radio has ended the year with a share of 1.2%.

SEN has dipped 0.2 points for a 0.4% share. Breakfast with Vossy and Brandy was down 0.1 for a share of 0.6%.
