Directors Guild Awards winners announced
Directors Guild Awards: Devil's Playground, Please Like Me, Jack Irish, Home & Away, The Code
The 2015 Australian Directors Guild Award winners include Tony Krawitz for Best Direction in a TV Mini Series for Devil’s Playground (episode 5) and Matthew Saville for Best Direction in a TV Comedy for Please Like Me.
The Awards took place at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and were hosted by The Chaser’s Chris Taylor. Jackie Woodburne and Alan Fletcher were at the ceremony to help mark the 30th Anniversary of Neighbours and were joined by fellow cast members Ariel Kaplan and Harley Bonner who were presenters, along with Robert Connolly, Nadine Garner, Sigrid Thornton and Denise Roberts.
Best Direction in a Telemovie went to Jeffrey Walker for Jack Irish: Dead Point. Best Direction in a TV Drama Serial went to Home And Away (Episode 6051) and its director Scott Hartford-Davis. Shawn Seet's The Code (series 1, episode 4) won Best Direction in a TV Drama Series.
There were two winners in the Esben Storm Award for Best Direction in a Children’s TV Program – Cate McQuillen for Get Grubby TV and Craig Irvin for Nowhere Boys (series 2, episode 7).
