'Jungle Rat' Myles Kuah wins Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II

In a gripping conclusion to Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn II, Myles Kuah, once dubbed the 'Jungle Rat', defied expectations and the odds to emerge as the Sole Survivor.

After an arduous 47 days on the Samoan shores, Myles outmanoeuvred, outplayed, and ultimately outlasted 23 fellow castaways, seizing the coveted title and the $500,000 grand prize.

"It's absolutely everything, and I went on thinking I’d have a fun time; there's no chance I’d win. A zero percent chance I’d win," Kuah said.

"It's a completely surreal way to cap off an incredible experience. I think I achieved everything I could have imagined and then stuff I couldn’t have imagined achieving, like finding four idols".

The season's climax saw Kuah, AJ, and Kaelan face off in a gruelling endurance challenge. Kaelan, who had already broken records for individual immunity wins, held on for over three hours to earn his seventh necklace.

With family members watching, Kaelan made the emotional, and unexpected, decision to take Myles to the end, eliminating AJ in the final tribal council vote.

A jury win after a season on the edge

Both Kaelan and Kuah delivered impassioned final pitches to the jury, but it was Myles' combination of underdog resilience and sharp gameplay that won the day.

Notably, Kuah broke another record: most votes cast against a player in a single season. This underdog-to-winner trajectory offers commercial potential, with Survivor continuing to deliver both viewership and brand alignment with narratives of perseverance and triumph.

"Sitting there and pitching my game to the jury, going through all the moves that I had made and having the jury ask me all sorts of different questions was so surreal," Kuah said.

"I was just having such a fun time out there... I should have been voted out at the second vote. I got so incredibly lucky not to get voted out. From then on, I was mentally prepared and totally fine to get voted out at any time. Even on the bottom, I was just happy to be there."
