Turnbull Shorten debate 2

Election season is in full swing, and apparently it's something Australians care about enough to engage with online. The second debate between Turnbull and Shorten on Sky News and ABC saw 8.4k people tweet 52.8k times. In at second place was ABC's Q&A, which always does well for Twitter engagement, but did exceptionally well last week. It was no doubt helped by an all-political panel featuring the likes of Richard Di Natale, Nick Xenophon and Jacqui Lambie.

In sport, the highest-ever rating Origin Game 1 also did well on Twitter. 16.5k sent out 49.3k tweets about the game.
