After being pushed back a week from its original start date due to fellow ITV Studios show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here resulting in a positive Covid case, Love Island Australia season three has officially hit Aussie screens.

Sophie Monk returns to host and play Cupid alongside new addition, comedian Stephen Mullan, the narrator.

The Islanders must couple up, stay together, and win over the hearts of the voting public, all while surviving the temptations of beautiful bombshells regularly entering the villa to test their relationships.

Having kicked off on October 11th, Love Island Australia airs from 8:30pm Monday-Thursday on Nine and 9Now.

“One thing you learn very quickly when you’re casting these sort of shows is that the people have got to have a bit extra, there’s always got to be that thing about them,” he said. “That thing can be anything from an obsession with Star Wars, to a slightly skewed opinion of themselves. 

“There are some really interesting people this year, they’re just people whose stories are inherently interesting. The great death of television is casting people on their backstory, you cast people on who they are going in and not what they’ll offer when they’re there. This year we’ve got people with good backstories, but who we know once they’re in there will give the audience content.”.

This season, each Thursday night viewers can join Abbie Chatfield and a bunch of celebrity superfans as they dissect all the highs and lows from the show on Afterparty

Featuring the latest gossip, behind-the-scenes stories, and exclusive former and recently dumped Islander interviews, Afterparty is the surefire way to debrief and stay up to date with all that’s happening and about to happen in the Love Island villa.

This season will see Tinder, Snaffle, Showpo, Stan, Veet Men and Pointsbet join the show as brand partners for its third season.

For all five brands Powered by Nine will bring unique integrated creative, in-program product placement, viewer interactivity, promotions, and more.

Love Island Australia is produced by ITV Studios Australia for Channel Nine with assistance from Screen NSW’s Made In NSW Fund.
