TV ratings February 4, 2022: Seven's Winter Olympics ends Nine's streak

• The Front Bar returned with a Winter Olympics special that had 433,000 viewers.

Seven has ended Nine's winning streak that dated back to the start of the Australian Open after the broadcaster registered the #1 primary channel (27.3%) and network (35.4%) last night. The main contributor to this win was the Winter Olympics which officially launched last night with its opening ceremony. The countdown to the Opening Ceremony had 495,000 viewers before the ceremony itself came on at 11pm with an average of 388,000 viewers.

Earlier in the evening, The Front Bar returned with a Winter Olympics special that had 433,000 viewers.

On Nine, A Current Affair had 545,000 viewers before David Attenborough's Green Planet then had 404,000 tune in.

On 10, a double episode of The Graham Norton Show brought in 214,000 and 156,000 viewers and featured a cavalcade of celebrity guests that included Penelope Cruz, Pedro Almodovar, James McAvoy, Nicole Lecky, Ella Henderson, Gordon Ramsay, Rosamund Pike, Judi Love, Hugh Bonneville, Gareth Thomas, Ella Henderson and Tom Grennan.

On the ABC, Monty Don's American Gardens had 306,000 viewers as Don went South to explore gardens of early independent America. Midsomer Murders then had 401,000.

The top program on SBS was Good with Wood which had 116,000 viewers.
