TV Demand: Stranger Things maintains its throne for a sixth week

For the sixth consecutive week, Netflix is enjoying the benefits of Stranger Things which has yet again topped all the TV demand charts. The sci-fi series came in 109.25 points above average in Australia and 54.1 points in New Zealand, one week before the volume two release.

Season three of The Boys on Amazon Prime has ranked second in Australia and New Zealand for a third week, with 36.29 points and 28.88 points, respectively. The series is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good.

Disney+’s Obi-wan Kenobi, with 31.27x points above average in Australia and 28.38 points in New Zealand, ranked third across the board for a second week. The season finale was released on June 22 on Disney+ as a second season is yet to be confirmed.

In Australia’s digital original series, Our Flag Means Death came in at fourth with 22.2 points above the market average. HBO Max confirmed a second season a month ago after a long-running campaign to renew the series by fans.

In Australia’s overall TV shows, animated series, Bluey placed fourth with 24.74 points above the average. The Australian show has recently been praised for its representation of the Auslan community and fertility in recent episodes.

In New Zealand’s digital originals, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds took out the fourth spot, clocking 17.89 points above average. In the overall TV shows, season 8 of Love Island UK placed fourth with 21.57 points above the market average.

Other notable placements in the TV demand charts include The Mandalorian placing fifth in Australia with 21.14 points, sixth in New Zealand with 12.18 points, and Game of Thrones with 23.05 points above average in Australia.
