Ted Lasso

After wrapping up its second season with an emotional climax and leaving the door open for a third season, Ted Lasso has returned to its place on top of all four charts this week.

In the show, American Ted Lasso is a coach of college-level American soccer team. He finds himself recruited to coach an English Premier League team, AFC Richmond, despite having absolutely no experience in that level of the game.

Season two explores the titular character’s mental health and drills down into what makes each character ticck.

This week Ted Lasso scored 29.44 points above market average in Australia and 19.13 points above average in New Zealand.

Australians are still loving Squid Game, with the Korean Netflix show coming second on both Australian charts.

For a show that has reached the dizzying heights of Squid Game – it’s now Netflix’s most watched original series – it’s hard to find places where it hasn’t taken off. New Zealand is one of those places. This week is the first time it has cracked the top 10 on either New Zealand chart, coming in eights on the Digital Originals list, but not making the top 10 overall.

In the series 456 desperate contestants compete with each other in a mysterious and deadly survival game involving multiple rounds of childhood games to win 45.6 billion Korean won in prize money that can pull them out of their misery.

Only Murders In The Building is creeping up the charts this week. The show follows three strangers (played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with a true-crime podcast. When there is a murder in their building, the neighbors start their own show while they investigate the crime themselves.

This week Only Murders In The Building scored 19.06 points above market average in Australia and 13.26 in New Zealand.
