The Geelong Cats are taking on the Sydney Swans to fight for the premiership in the AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 24 at 2:30 pm AEST on Channel Seven and 7Plus.

While the game will be broadcast exclusively live on Channel Seven across the country, the game will also be on ABC Sport’s live radio call via the AFL website.

Geelong and Sydney’s grand final clash is a history maker, as the two teams have never played each other in a grand final before.

For the first time in three years, the final will be played at the MCG as COVID complications forced the grand final game to Brisbane in 2020, and to Perth in 2021.

In Sydney, the Swans are hosting a free live event at the SCG where supporters will be able to watch the Grand Final on the big screen. The SCG gates open from 1 pm, and it’s free entry.

The Geelong Cats haven’t won a premiership since 2011 and the Swans are also chasing their first grand final win since 2012. Both sides have lost Grand Finals since their last win: Geelong in 2020 to Richmond, and the Swans in 2014 to Hawthorn and in 2016 to the Western Bulldogs.

The AFL’s headline act for the grand final entertainment is Robbie Williams, with Delta Goodrem joining him as a special guest.

The pre-show and half-time show are also set to have a slew of Australian artists including G Flip, Mike Brady, The Temper Trap, Katie Noonan, Goanna, Christine Anu, Emma Donovan, Tasman Keith, and William Barton

The umpires for the game will include veteran Matt Stevic who will umpire his ninth AFL Grand Final, alongside fellow field umpires Simon Meredith in his eighth Grand Final and Brendan Hosking, who is making his debut umpiring a Grand Final.

The AFL Grand Final will be live on Channel Seven and 7Plus on Saturday 24 September at 2:30 pm.
