The 2023 Supercar season is kicking off this weekend with the Repco Supercars Championship, live and free on Seven, 7mate and 7plus.

Leading the coverage are sports broadcaster Mark Beretta and Super2 driver Jack Perkins, they will take viewers to live to the Newcastle Street Circuit for all the action from 12.30 pm AEDT this Saturday and Sunday on Seven.

In an exciting first, Seven’s coverage will be co-anchored by a driver in the race as Perkins switches from behind the microphone to behind the wheel for the Super2 throughout the thrilling weekend.

Ahead of the historic race – which will see the unveiling of the new Gen 3 liveries – Perkins shared his excitement as he embarks on his first race as a primary driver in three years, with Erebus Motorsport.

Perkins said: “I’m rapt to be back with Seven, alongside Beretts for this weekend’s live and free Newcastle 500 broadcast.

“Doubling broadcast duties while I race Super2 also gives me a chance to offer unique insights for the viewers, which I’m really looking forward to.”

“It’s such an exciting time for Supercars as we finally welcome the Gen 3 cars in the new Chevrolet versus Ford era, which is so exciting for the drivers, teams and fans. We’re all looking forward to some great racing this weekend in Newcastle. Bring it on,” he said.

Meanwhile, Foxtel and Kayo Sports will offer its subscribers live and ad-free coverage of the new Gen3 Supercars as they roar into Newcastle this weekend for the first race of the season.

The popular Thrifty Newcastle 500 street-race returns after a three-year hiatus, coinciding with the first-time fans can watch the new Camaro, and Mustang models take flight.

Live coverage on Foxtel and Kayo Sports begins on Friday at 10 am, Saturday at 9.10 am and Sunday at 9.15 am. The main races will take place at 3.20 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Fox Motorsport expert Mark Skaife will once again provide his respected analysis throughout the season alongside host Jess Yates who will unpack the biggest news and storylines from the track.

Viewers will also have access to exclusive interviews, highlights packages and bespoke programming.
