TV Guide: Survivor Blood V Water on 10 and 10 Play

Twenty-four castaways will battle it out alongside a loved one when Australian Survivor: Blood V Water premieres on Monday, 31 January at 7.30pm, on 10 and 10 Play on demand.

Siblings, couples, in-laws, and parents and children will all go head-to-head and test the strength of their bonds as they play the world’s toughest game. Survivor is ultimately an individual game, so what happens when you play bound to another player? Is it possible to betray the ones you love? 

Hailing from Queensland are Andy, Kate, Ben, Shayelle, Chrissy, Croc, David and Briana.

Representing Victoria are Alex, Jay, Amy, Khanh, Jordie, Jordan, Josh, KJ, Sophie, Mark, Sam and Mel.

Flying the flag for New South Wales is Melissa and representing the ACT is Jesse.

Competing this season alongside her daughter Nina is Sandra Diaz-Twine. Sandra is a two-time Survivor US winner and now she is ready to take on Australian Survivor and defend her international Survivor throne. 

Speaking to Mediaweek, executive producer Tim Ali said that Blood V Water was a very different game for Sandra.

“The biggest mistake that US contestants can make when coming over here to play is actually thinking they know the game and thinking they can put all their knowledge of the US game into the Australian game. They can certainly do that but it is a very different style here. And it’s something that Sandra actually identifies and articulates very well really early on. So I’ll leave that for the fans to see and find out.”

Blood v Water has been filmed in Queensland, this time heading to North Queensland’s Charters Towers, 134 km south-east of Townsville, for season seven. 

Produced by Endemol Shine Australia for Network 10 and supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, this latest series is expected to deliver $12.6 million for the state’s economy and employ 170 Queenslanders.  

In 2021, the Survivor: Brains V Brawn finale had 785,000 viewers (923,000 for winners announcement) as Hayley was crowned Sole Survivor and won $500,000. The winner’s announcement was the top segment across all key demographics.
