TV Ratings August 12, 2022: The Chase #1 in ratings race

Total TV Ratings, August 5

Seven's AFL Friday Night Football, which saw the Eels dominate the Sea Eagles, was the top non-news program in total TV, bringing in a total audience of 737,000 and an increase of 2%.

The Chase Australia came in second with a total audience of 700,000, rising by 3%.

On ABC, Time experienced the highest lift on overnight, increasing by 61% to reach 281,000 people.

Despite the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games coming to an end, Seven has still walked away with a Friday night win. Seven had a 24.2% primary channel share, 34.8% network share, and a 7mate multichannel win of 5.2%.

The winning combo for Seven is a mix of 7News (789,000/749,000), The Chase (524,000), and Friday Night AFL (465,000). 259,000 people from Melbourne tuned in to watch The Brisbane Lions come out on top against St Kilda with a 12.9 (81) to 9.12 (66) win.

On NineA Current Affair was one of the most viewed programs of the night, reaching 567,000 viewers, as the program examined the highly debated cashless debit card loophole. Hot Seat had a viewership of 405,000, while the NRL, which saw the Rabbitohs dominate the Eels 26-0, clocked 314,000 viewers, with 174,000 tuning in from Sydney.

On 10, 10 News First brought in 277,000 views, while The Living Room reached 243,000 views as Dr Chris Brown built a home among the gum trees.

ABC’s Movin’ to the Country reached 308,000 viewers as Halina went to Kangaroo Island to meet the owner of a wildlife sanctuary who rebounded from the 2020 bushfires.

STV

Fox Footy topped subscription TV with its coverage of St Kilda v Brisbane, which reached an audience of 239,000.

Fox League took the next two spots with its coverage of the Rabbitohs s v Eels clocking 238,000 views, followed by Warrior v Bulldogs with 171,000 views.
