ABC’s airing of Vera topped entertainment total TV for the network with 587,000 viewers, growing by 15%. 

The biggest jump in commercial primetime viewing goes to Nine’s Wimbledon coverage, where the Total TV audience grew by 17% to reach 199,000 viewers. 

Overnight TV Ratings, July 22

Seven enjoyed a Saturday night win in both the network and primary channel shares with 26.1% and 37.6%, respectively. 7mate won the multichannels with 5.5%.

Seven’s Saturday Night AFL saw the Swans take a 29-point victory over Freemantle as 481,000 tuned in to watch the match. In entertainment, Border Security: Australia’s Front Line reached 190,000 as officers suspected a Chinese man with traces of a date-rape drug in his luggage.

Nine’s airing of A Current Affair saw 434,000 tuned in as the program investigated the rise of dingo attacks and the debate rising regarding culling. Earlier in the night, Getaway had 272,000 as the team uncovered paradise in New Caledonia.

On the ABC, Sister Boniface Mysteries was viewed by 308,000 as Sister Boniface investigated a murder at Great Slaughter's town twinning ceremony.

10 aired The Dog House Australia as the program met with Johnny and Eva who couldn't decide on a dog breed to rescue. The show had 168,000. The network also aired NCIS: Los Angeles to 73,000 viewers. 

SBS aired The Rise of the Nazis to 68,000.

On Fox League, the Cowboys beat the Eels 24-16 in front of 203,000, while the Knights pummeled the Storm 26-18 in front of 193,000 at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.

Fox Footy’s top game was Port Adelaide V Collingwood, which saw Collingwood just win by 2 points in front of 193,000. Geelong V Brisbane clocked 174,000 as Brisbane won by 11 points at the Gabba in Brisbane. Richmond V Hawthorn clocked 108,000 as the Tigers won by 1 point.
