TV Ratings March 26, 2022: Seven on top thanks to AFL coverage

Total TV Ratings, March 19

ABC’s Death in Paradise topped the total TV ratings for non-news programs, bringing in 961,000 viewers, an increase of 22%.

ABC also claimed the #2 non-news program with Unforgotten, reaching a total TV audience of 861,000, and experiencing the biggest lift on overnight with 48%.

Nine’s Space Invaders reached a total audience of 410,000 and a 17% lift, while Seven’s Saturday Night Football came seventh in the ratings, reaching an audience of 432,000, but experiencing no increase on overnight.

Overnight TV Ratings, March 27

Seven has dominated the network shares with 36.9%, while Nine trailed behind with 24.4%. Seven also claimed the #1 primary share spot with 23.2%, while Nine had a 15.1% share, followed closely by ABC with 12.1%.

Seven’s AFL Saturday Night Football coverage was the second most-watched non-news program, reaching an audience of 348,000 and ranking first amongst the 16 - 39 demographic.

168,000 Melbourne residents tuned in to watch Hawthorn take a 64-point win over Port Adelaide with 19.6 (120) to 7.14 (56), giving new coach Sam Mitchell consecutive wins to start his tenure.

ABC claimed the top two non-news programs of the night with the season nine premiere of UK mystery series Father Brown, reaching an audience of 411,000. Additionally, ABC’s Unforgotten was the third most-watched non-news program with an audience of 316,000.

Nine’s top non-news program was Space Invaders with 247,000 viewers, followed by an episode of Getaway, which reached an audience of 213,000.

10 aired a release of Ambulance UK which has an audience of 79,000, while SBS’s top non-news program was Celebrity Letters and Numbers with 91,000 views.

STV

Fox League’s NRL Super Saturday was the most-watched program on subscription TV, clocking 372,000 views. The Paramatta Eels took on Melbourne Storm, snatching a 28-24 win at AAMI Park, which brought in 294,000 viewers for Fox League.

Raiders v Titans had an audience of 242,000 and Panthers v Knights reached 200,000 people.

Fox Footy’s AFL coverage of Essendon v Brisbane clocked 182,000 views as the Lions defeated Essendon 5.7 (97) to 10.15 (75). Port Adelaide v Hawthorn reached 160,000 viewers, while the match between Collingwood and Adelaide had an audience of 155,000.

Fox Sports 506 live Supercars Tasmania Race 3 coverage reached 110,000 people.
