Are Media has announced that due Covid lockdowns and border restrictions the 2021 TV Week Logie Awards will be cancelled this year.

The 62nd iteration of the awards were due to take place at The Star Gold Coast on Sunday 28th November. Are Media cited Australia’s evolving Covid-19 position as the reason for the cancellation as it provided organisers with no certainty to plan ahead for a safe event.

Fiona Connolly, group publisher, Are Media said: “We are disappointed to have to cancel this year’s TV Week Logie Awards after charging ahead with plans to return for a bigger than ever event on the Gold Coast this November. Unfortunately, our current Covid cases and travel restrictions leave us no choice.  But we will return to Queensland mid-2022 and promise the TV Week Logie Awards will bring an overdue and deserved night of glamour, celebration and recognition of Australia’s outstanding television industry.”

With the Awards postponed last year and cancelled this year the eligibility period for the 2022 TV Week Logie Awards will be from 1st January, 2021 through to 31st March 2022.

The date for the 62nd TV Week Logie Awards at The Star Gold Coast, the home of the awards on Queensland’s picturesque Gold Coast, will be announced in early 2022 and all the action, glamour and thrills from the red-carpet arrivals and awards-show ceremony will once again be telecast on Nine and 9Now.
