Television New Zealand (TVNZ) has appointed Motto as its advertising sales representative in Australia, which will provide the specialist resources the broadcaster needs to tell its story in the Australian market.

The appointment, commencing on 1 January 2024, will also forge closer links with brands and businesses wishing to connect with New Zealand audiences.

Glenn McGahan, TVNZ general manager of direct and regional sales, said: "TVNZ is transforming from a broadcast-based business to a digital-first media company, and Motto’s depth of experience with premium digital video products is closely aligned with the journey we’re on."

Cameron Knight, Motto’s co-founder and director, said the Motto team was looking forward to assisting the TVNZ team with building their share of the Australian market.

"We understand how TVNZ operate, and we’re well-placed to help them achieve their ambitious digital growth goals."

Motto also demonstrated an in-depth sports knowledge and capability, complementing TVNZ+’s newly launched sports streaming hub.

Pat Moloughney, Motto’s co-founder and director said it was an exciting time to be partnering with TVNZ following the expansion of their sports broadcast portfolio. He added: "Motto looks forward to working with Australian advertisers wanting to tap into the famous Kiwi sporting spirit."   TVNZ reaches close to 2 million Kiwis daily through channels TVNZ 1, TVNZ 2, TVNZ DUKE and streaming platform, TVNZ+. Online news site 1news.co.nz and socially driven online news brand Re: further extends this audience, giving TVNZ the ability to connect with more New Zealanders than any other media organisation in Aotearoa.
