Seven is mourning the loss of one of its most respected voices, with foreign affairs commentator Dr Keith Suter passing away in hospital at the age of 77.
The network confirmed the news, remembering Suter as a calm, trusted guide through some of the most complex global events of the past two decades.
Seven’s Director of Morning TV, Sarah Stinson, notified staff of his passing in an internal note, paying tribute to his intellect, steadiness and presence across Sunrise and the network’s coverage.
“It is with great sadness that I share the news that our friend and colleague, Dr Keith Suter, passed away peacefully in hospital last night.
Keith has been part of the Sunrise and Seven family for many years: the most brilliant mind, a calm and trusted voice on some of the most complex stories in our world, and a joy to work with behind the scenes.
He helped explain wars, elections and global crisis upon crisis, but he always did it with measure, so people felt safe.
