The Australian Women’s Weekly editor-in-chief Kim Doherty has resigned from the role to take some time out with her young family and pursue other opportunities.

Doherty said: “Being the editor-in-chief of The Australian Women’s Weekly is one of the great honours in Australian media – it’s been a joy and a privilege to steer this much-loved magazine. I’m proud of our quality journalism and the important stories we’ve told and thank everyone who has trusted us to share them. Special thanks also go to our readers and my amazing team.”

Jayne Ferguson, general manager of women’s lifestyle and entertainment at Bauer Media, added: “Kim has been a highly-respected editor, leader in our industry and a key contributor to our business. She informed me of her decision some time ago and I’d like to thank her for all her work and wish her the very best for the future.”

She will finish up this week, with her replacement to be named in due course.
