Accenture Song has welcomed back Bronwyn van der Merwe.

Van der Merwe will work across the Australia and New Zealand business as functions lead with a remit to help drive purpose-driven growth for clients across its product innovation, marketing, commerce, and customer sales and service offerings.

Van der Merwe brings over 20 years of experience in the design and innovation space to the role.

Her most recent title was VP of design at Culture Amp. Before that, she was the general manager of Fjord and established Fjord in Australia. She went on to build and lead a team of 350, launching studios across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan. She then became the design lead for Accenture Interactive, now Song, in the Asia Pacific region.

As part of Accenture Song’s global inclusion and diversity council, van der Merwe championed initiatives to celebrate the diversity of its people, helping to create an inclusive employee experience with the aim of nurturing everyone’s careers equally.

Van der Merwe said of her new role: "I'm very excited to be re-joining Mark Green and the team at Accenture Song. It’s an incredible group of individuals and when we combine our capabilities with our clients we can make exceptional things happen. We help our clients find new sources of growth, transform their organisations and deliver experiences that people love.

"There's a revolution happening in customer and employee expectations. As organisations try to respond to this rapid change we need to employ the very best in technology, design, data and analytics, and human insight. There are so many opportunities and innovations in technology, generative AI currently being the most talked about, that we need to understand and deploy responsibly. It’s an exciting space and I’m looking forward to working with the Accenture business and our
clients to bring to life bold, value-creating experiences."

Mark Green, president of Accenture Song ANZ, said: "Bronwyn’s expansive experience with design led strategy and digital transformation coupled with her passion for innovation and championing culture, makes her a standout leader. Having spent close to a decade with Song also means she can hit the ground running due to her strong relationships both within the business and with our clients."
