More than 60 media agency representatives traded keyboards for courts this week as Are Media hosted its annual end-of-year pickleball competition at the Sydney Racquet Club in Moore Park.

Standout Performances

The morning session saw strong showings from Initiative’s Hannah Cook and Katie Collier, along with EssenceMediacom’s Brianna Kneebone, who all impressed with consistent rallies and quick footwork.

In the afternoon tournament, the Nestlé team from WPP Tara Grealy, Alexander Garla and Molly Kingham-Convey dominated the court, while Clemenger BBDO’s Angie Shen and Paddy Murphy also delivered standout performances.

Alongside the friendly competition, the event also served as an opportunity for Are Media and ARN to highlight their new vodcast and podcasting partnership, as well as preview Are Media’s upcoming summer advertising packages.

Strong Turnout

Anna Quinn, Director of Advertising Sales at Are Media, said the enthusiasm on the day underscored the popularity of pickleball and the appetite for end-of-year industry catch-ups.

“We were blown away by the performances of our agency partners on the pickleball court clearly some agencies have been getting in some practice on what is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia. We had an amazing turnout and there was tremendous feedback in the market in hearing about our summer packages across the Are Media stable,” she said.
