News Corp Australia’s chief executive officer Julian Clarke today announced a number of senior executive appointments in the wake of the departure of Jerry Harris.

Damian Eales (pictured) has been appointed managing director of metro and regional publishing, with responsibility for the company’s  metro and regional publications. Eales will continue to lead News Corp Australia’s marketing and network advertising sales functions.

Geoff Booth will join the company’s executive team in his role as national director of production and logistics, and will have full responsibility for the production and physical distribution of News Corp Australia’s newspapers to the newsagency system.

In addition, Clarke will be appointing a managing director to oversee the company’s community publications. An announcement of this new position will be made in due course.

Eales will continue to report to Clarke, and Booth will report to News Corp Australia’s chief financial officer Susan Panuccio. Their appointments are effective immediately.

Clarke said: “These appointments reflect the confidence we have in our print and digital businesses which have enjoyed significant growth this year.”
