Gnash dethrones Lukas Graham on ARIA singles after eight weeks on top
ARIA Charts: Gnash pushes Lukas Graham aside on singles, Metal outsells folk on albums
• Singles: Lukas Graham finally surrenders top spot to US singer/producer Gnash
• Albums: Deftones the new chart champ, stopping The Lumineers from #1
Singles
After four weeks on the chart, Gnash has climbed to top spot with "I Hate U, I Love You" featuring Olivia O'Brien. The song finally dislodged Lukas Graham after eight weeks on top with "7 Years" which dropped to #5.
"Faded" from Alan Walker still sits at #2, again unable to make that leap to #1.
The Chainsmokers continue the push to the top with "Don't Let Me Down" reaching a new high at #3 after seven weeks.
A future #1 candidate also could be Drake with "One Dance" featuring Wizkid and Kyla up from #43 to #15 in its second week.
No chart debuts inside the top 50, but three tracks made it into the 50 for the first week from further down the chart:
#62 to #44 Drake with "Pop Style" in its second week
#64 to #47 Desiigner with "Panda" in its second week
#67 to #49 Nick Jonas with "Close" in its third week

Albums
A relatively quiet week in the album world with five new albums debuting inside the top 50, four of them in the top 12.
Deftones cracked top spot with "Gore", outselling The Lumineers with "Cleopatra" which sits at #2. The alternative metal band from Sacramento's previous highest album chart position was #2 in 2000 with "White Pony".
Metal outsold folk this week and folk rockers The Lumineers' album is the only entrant in the top 10 which hasn't spent a week topping this chart.
History shows that Deftones will be lucky to spend more than a week on top though. The only albums to spend multiple weeks at #1 in 2016 are "25" from Adele (still #3 after 21 weeks) and the Molly soundtrack (still #5 after 20 weeks).

#12 "Junk" from M83
#44 "Book of Shawows II" from Zakk Wylde
