Entries from both Fairfax Media and News Corp Australia were recognised at the International News Media Association’s Global Media Awards held in New York overnight.

Across Australia and New Zealand, Fairfax picked up four of the 40 top awards, as well as being recognised with three second-places and two third-places.

Likewise News Corp Australia is bringing a swag of trophies back home too.

Fairfax Media's chief editorial and marketing officer for Domain Melina Cruickshank was on hand to collect the real estate portal's award. Also attending the awards and conference from Fairfax were metro CMO Michael Laxton and metro COO Andrew Porter.

News Corp Australia's COO publishing Damian Eales was on hand to accept awards. Eales is a director and board member of INMA (as is Fairfax's Greg Hywood, but he's got a bit on at the moment!)

The awards have 20 categories split by regional/local brands and global/national brands.
