The Australian and the Herald Sun are being used to illustrate the growth of digital subscriptions at News Corp Australia. A News spokesperson said Thursday:

“The latest data release from the Audit Bureau of Circulation shows significant increases in net paid digital sales for our titles, providing further evidence of the success of our digital subscription program.

The Australian now has over 70,000 digital subscribers Mon-Fri – up 9.1% YoY – while the Herald Sun has grown 18.5% YoY to just shy of 60,000 digital subscribers Mon-Fri.

“Elsewhere, the ABC data shows that News Corp Australia continues to outperform its competitors and that we continue to see a slowing of circulation declines.

“Last week’s emma data confirmed our position as Australia’s leading publisher, with a reach of almost 14.8 million Australians each month or 83% of the population.

“We are also thrilled that the latest Nielsen online ratings show that news.com.au increased its audience by 10% in July to a record high audience of over four million for the month, affirming its status as Australia’s number one news website.

“These numbers, together with the game-changing announcements we made at our recent Come Together event, demonstrate that News Corp Australia has a hugely powerful, compelling and unique proposition – one that sets us apart from anything else in the market.”
