Jodie and Soda 1023

•  Mix pushes ahead of market with Jodie & Soda closing gap

Mix 102.3 12.4% (-0.7)

The station has challengers in different timeslots from different competitors, but there is no better overall performer in the market. Jodie and Soda lifted breakfast share 0.8 to 12.1%. They are closing in on Fiveaa breakfast, trailing by 0.3. Share was down in most other dayparts. In the battle for leadership 40-54, Mix now has a narrow lead over Triple M.

Nova 91.9 11.0% (-0.2)

Falls in drive, evening and on weekends couldn’t keep the station in the black. The good news is that breakfast with Lewis and Lowe added 0.2 to hit 11.0%, closing the gap between it and Triple M breakfast. Also up were morning and afternoon timeslots. Share lifted 3.0 to 22.9% 18-24, coming within 0.5 of taking back leadership from Hit. Share dropped a little 25-39 where Nova is equal #2 alongside Triple M and behind Hit 107.

Fiveaa 10.8% (-0.6)

Share 10+ edged lower, but David Penberthy and Will Goodings remain #1 commercial in breakfast despite share slipping 1.2 to 12.4%. The only daypart to grow share was drive with Rowey and Bicks which was up 0.8 to 11.6%.

5MMM 10.7% (-1.4)

The FM station shed some audience 10+ in addition to breakfast with Roo and Ditts dropping 2.1 to 11.4%. Morning and afternoon took a hit too, with evening the only daypart in positive territory. Key demos were off too with 25-39 down 1.1 to 14.6% where the station slipped from #1 to equal #2. Triple M also lost top spot 40-54 with share down 3.0 to 18.2% where it now narrowly trails Mix.

Cruise1323 9.5% (-0.3)

Holding above 9% is still a good look even in this smaller market. Breakfast, morning and afternoon all dipped marginally, while drive and evening lifted 0.2 each. Cruise is the new leader 55-64, taking top spot from sister station Mix this survey.

Hit 107 8.0% (+0.1)

The only station to grow 10+ this survey. Overall share might not be too impressive but advertisers wanting a younger demo are getting little waste. Hit remains #1 18-24 and is the new ratings champ 25-39. Breakfast dropped 1.0, but there were good rises in morning and afternoon.
