Hollywood's 'Party of the Year', the Golden Globes, kicked off the 2023-24 awards season on Monday afternoon, with various awards handed out recognising the very best in Film and Television from the past year.

The Aussies who were up for a trophy at the ceremony faired well, with Elizabeth Debecki taking home Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role on Television for her role as Princess Diana on Netflix's The Crown while Sarah Snook took home Best Actress in a Television Series - Drama for her role as Shiv Roy in HBO's Succession.

The Golden Globes are one of the main tone-setters in gauging what will be nomination favourites at Hollywood's night of nights, The Oscars, and while Barbenheimer dominated the Globe nominations, the night saw Oppenheimer walk away with the bigger trophies including Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, Best Score and the biggest of the night, Best Motion Picture - Drama.

On the television side, it was a final hurrah for Succession, with the final season taking home the major awards in the 'Drama' category including Best Supporting Actor for Matthew Macfayden, Best Actor for Kieran Culkin, Best Actress for Sarah Snook and Best Television Series - Drama.

The 'Comedy or Musical' category saw FX's culinary dramedy The Bear take home Best Actor for Jeremy Allen White, Best Actress for Ayo Edebiri and Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical.

Produced and owned by Dick Clark Productions, the Golden Globe Awards are viewed in more than 185 countries worldwide.

Dick Clark Productions is a Penske Media company. The media and information services company owns a suite of media brands including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, Rolling Stone, Billboard and many more.
