Wonderful wins four golds at international Communicator Awards

The agency took home four golds and two silvers for its work with Aruma and Millbray.

Sydney independent digital agency Wonderful has won multiple awards at this year’s international Communicator Awards, run by the US Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts.

The agency took home four golds and two silvers for its work with Aruma and Millbray, marking international recognition for its digital experience work.

Gold for Aruma website work

Wonderful won three gold awards for its work with Aruma, one of Australia’s leading not-for-profit disability service providers.

The agency was recognised in the categories of best general non-profit website, best user experience, and best features, structure and navigation.

Aruma supports more than 4,000 people across New South Wales, ACT, Queensland and Victoria.

Millbray work recognised

Wonderful also secured gold in the best user interface category for Millbray.

The agency also won two silver awards for Millbray: best general property website and best visual appeal (aesthetic).
Millbray was launched to meet growing demand among Australians over 50 for high-quality residential living.

Wonderful helped lead the digital foundations for Millbray and its first community, Ashcroft in Queensland. The agency’s work covered mobile-first experience design, a unified responsive design system, engineering, scalable content architecture and performance analytics.

Matt Barbelli, founder and managing director at Wonderful, said the recognition reflects the agency’s digital craft and client partnerships.

“This level of recognition on an international stage is incredibly meaningful for our team and partners,” Barbelli said.

“To see our work for Aruma and Millbray awarded alongside some of the world’s best is a testament to the ambition of our clients and the calibre of thinking and craft we bring to every project.”

About the Communicator Awards

Now in its 32nd year, the Communicator Awards received more than 3,000 entries from advertising agencies, global brands, digital agencies, production studios and in-house creative teams.

The awards are judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, an invitation-only body of more than 1,100 industry leaders.

This year’s jury included experts from JPMorgan Chase & Co., FedEx, Netflix, National Geographic Society and Accenture Song.

The New York-headquartered Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts is made up of professionals across disciplines in the visual arts and focuses on traditional and interactive media. It also oversees the W3 and Davey Awards.
