LinkedIn reflects on achievements for 20 year anniversary

LinkedIn is celebrating their 20-year anniversary this week – from a simple idea developed by the platform’s co-founder, Reid Hoffman, and four others in Silicon Valley, to connect professionals. As the world of work transformed at an unprecedented pace over the last two decades, LinkedIn has continued to evolve into what has become the largest professional platform in the world, with three new member sign-ups every minute.

In celebration of the milestone, Linkedin has reflected on the last two decades and the evolution of the platform since 2003, revealing the achievements below:

• The platform currently has more than 930 million members worldwide 
• A 73% YoY increase in the number of student sign-ups, as Gen Z enters the workforce
• 8 members get hired every minute on the site globally
• 63 million companies have a page
• 5.2 million professionals around the world actively use the platform
• There are over 8M posts and comments posted on LinkedIn every day
• LinkedIn is available in 26 languages 
• LinkedIn Marketing Solutions surpassed $5 billion in revenue worldwide in FY22, leading B2B digital advertising to deliver higher reach and ROI 
• In q3, LinkedIn's revenue increased 8% YoY
