News Corp metro newspapers revealed a new-look section on Saturday. Simply titled Motoring, it has replaced CarsGuide as the destination for people wanting news and information about motor vehicles.

Explaining the section to readers, editor Richard Blackburn said: "It's not all about the car, it's about the whole motoring experience – which car has the longest warranty, cheapest servicing, best resale and most impressive accident avoidance technology.

"We still love driving cars here, and the new section will continue to tell car lovers which ones drive the best. But it will also be more accessible to those who need a simple, easy guide to modern motoring."

The new section was a little thinner than readers have become accustomed to at 16 pages.

Highlights in week one of Motoring were a car review from Paul Gover and his wife Ali.

A celebrity section featured Jodi Anasta and her Mazda. Bill McKinnon looked at three SUVs and Smithy continues to review used cars. A short two-page Prestige section looked at the Audi Q5 and the Toyota Kluger Grande.
