SA's Messenger Newspapers launching two new titles

South Australia’s Messenger Newspapers will undergo one of its biggest transformations in 20 years when it launches two new titles, refreshes a flagship title and introduces an enhanced lifestyle section this week.

News Corp SA managing director Ish Davies said the company is proud of the significant investment which is being made in Messenger Newspapers.

From Wednesday 12 October, the CoastCity Weekly will replace The Guardian Messenger, catering to Adelaide’s southwest suburbs, covering from Glenelg to Goodwood Road and the Marion district. Reflecting a beach suburb focus, the CoastCity Weekly will expand it’s footprint by 10,000 delivering to over 68,000 homes.

The Westside Weekly will replace the Weekly Times Messenger, covering from the inner-west to Henley Beach and stretching east to Bowden and north to Woodville Gardens

Messenger’s flagship gloss publication, The Eastern Courier, will also be transformed with a new design and expanded footprint in order to further strengthen the title’s reach and appeal.

“These new mastheads and enhancements – our most significant change in 20 years of publishing – allow our storytellers and our advertisers dynamic new ways to celebrate the local experience,” said Ish Davies.

The popular Adelaide Matters brand will transform from an inserted monthly magazine to a 12-page lifestyle section canvassing food, events, fashion and arts that will feature in each of the three titles.

CoastCity Weekly,Westside Weekly and The Eastern Courier will be distributed from Wednesday 12 October.

The last edition of the Mitcham & Hills Messenger was printed on Wednesday 5 October. From October 13, homes that previously received that paper will get either The Eastern Courier or the CoastCity Weekly.
