REA Group appoints Kieren Cooney as chief marketing officer

Cooney most recently held the role of CEO of Omnicom Interbrand

REA Group has appointed Kieren Cooney, to the newly created role of chief marketing officer (CMO).

Cooney joins REA Group after more than 20 years in senior marketing and telecommunications roles including his most recent position as CEO of Omnicom Interbrand. Prior to that, he held CMO positions with NBN Co and Telecom New Zealand.

His appointment will take effect in the coming months with Cooney to be a part of REA Group’s executive leadership team, reporting to CEO Tracey Fellows.

As part of the creation of the CMO role, Elizabeth Minogue – executive general manager, media – will now also focus on the growth of REA’s media and news/lifestyle content experience from a global perspective.
