Sarah Abo to MC Women in Media 2023 National Conference

The event will take place in Sydney in September

Women in Media has announced that breakfast television co-host Sarah Abo will be a Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the Women in Media National Conference 2023.

Sarah Abo is co-host of Nine Network's breakfast program Today. Abo was previously a reporter for 60 Minutes, and a presenter and reporter on SBS.

Abo joins the chief news presenter for Network Ten's flagship news bulletin Sandra Sully who will MC the first day of the conference (8 September 2023).

As MC, Abo will preside over the second day of the conference program, including panel discussions, keynote addresses, workshops, and networking events.

The Women in Media National Conference, taking place in Sydney for the first time on 8-9 September 2023, is an event that brings together professionals from all areas of the media industry including journalism, communications, production, public relations, advertising, marketing, publishing and digital media.

"It’s exciting to MC this event which will be hosted in Sydney for the first time,” said Sarah Abo. "I look forward to spending the day with my peers and supporting the many women working in media who will be participating.”

Ita Buttrose AC OBE will headline the speaker line-up including 2023 Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt, Leigh Sales AM, Natalie Barr and many other experts in media, technology, and creative industries. The conference aims to foster meaningful conversations and drive positive change in the media landscape.

“Gathering this powerful panel of women together will ensure a robust discussion about the systemic and pervasive issues that contribute to gender inequality. We are thrilled to host these amazing women and hear their views at our national conference," said Jacoby.
