Following the debut of Nine’s new bulletin on Monday, WIN News won the week in the nation’s capital and has grown its viewership. WIN News was the most-watched news program of the week at 6pm on commercial television in the ACT.

Throughout the week, WIN’s local news bulletin in the pivotal 6pm-6.30pm timeslot, delivered 17,002 viewers (audience average) across five nights in the ACT and achieved a five-night commercial share of 32.9% in its timeslot.

Despite the new offering at 6pm, WIN News increased its viewers compared to weeks 4-5 of 2017 when the viewing average was 16,608 with a 30.7% commercial share.

Nine’s offering, which mixes local news with national and international stories, was the third most-watched news program of the week, with an average weekly audience of 10,862 from 6pm-6.30pm and a commercial share of 21%, trailing Prime7.

WIN’s Network News Director Stella Lauri said, “Our Canberra team is doing what it has done better than anyone else over the past 27 years, which is provide Canberra and the surrounding regions with a dedicated half hour of news, sport and weather that's relevant to the viewers of the region. Viewers recognise our experience and appreciate the dedication shown.”
