Paul Kent finds a new line of work as he awaits December court date

Four months on from Paul Kent’s arrest and subsequent standing down from his roles at Fox Sports and The Daily Telegraph, The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Kent has found a new line of work.

Kent is now reported to be working as a part-time limousine driver for Mannings Funerals in Sydney’s Rozelle.

When contacted by The Sydney Morning Herald, funeral director Michael Manning said that: “He’s been down a few times to work with us. If he wants a job full-time I’d have no problem with that.

“He said he has an interest in the funeral business and I’d show him the ropes. He told me he wants to write a book about the funeral business and I’d help him out with that for sure. And if he needs more work, I’d help with that, too.”

In May, Police were called to Kent’s Lilyfield home, before being taken to Surry Hills police station, where he was charged with common assault and choking a person without consent. It is alleged that Kent got into an argument with a 33-year-old woman before the police were called.

“Paul Kent has been stood down from his duties with News Corp and Fox Sports while he deals with this personal matter,” News Corp said in a statement at the time.

After the news of the arrest broke, Foxtel reportedly removed the back catalogue of NRL 360. Kent has been a presenter on NRL 360 since the show first launched in 2013.

When users tried to search for the show, posts emerged on social media of an error screen reading “This content is not available anymore”. Clips of the show’s content still remained available on Fox League’s YouTube channel.

In the interim, Gorden Tallis was brought in as Kent’s replacement and has remained in the show’s presenter seat since then.

There has been no official word on Kent's future at News Corp. He is set to face court in December.
