Surprise global podcast hit, Toni and Ryan, will be taking a short break as host Toni Lodge is down with Covid.

Even battling through the positive result, Toni Lodge recorded Tuesday’s episode with co-host Ryan Jon, but unfortunately the series will be on hold until she fully recovers.

Despite kicking the show off with no budget or writers, Toni and Ryan is currently Top 10 Spotify, Top 20 Apple, is Top 20 in the UK and has attracted a significant following in the US.

The podcast will go very close to a million downloads for January and has managed to generate interest from local and overseas podcast companies.

If it cracks the million download mark, that would put it up there with radio and podcast royalty like Hamish and Andy and Kyle and Jackie O.

As well as interest in the duo from radio networks in Australia, the pair’s management team have had several inquiries from podcast companies here and overseas.

The podcast started out as an independent production and initially relied on listener donations via a Patreon to pay for production. They are now signed to iHeart.

Ryan Jon said “If it's good enough for Adele to cancel a season at Caesars Palace, then its good enough for Toni to miss a few eps “

Toni Lodge added “I would do anything for Ryan… but I won’t do that, sorry everyone.”
