Many newspaper websites around the world are dropping their paywalls to attract bigger audiences to follow the US election results.

In the US many dailies are offering free access to follow the fortunes of Trump and Clinton with The New York Times leading the pack.

The New York Times is inviting readers to take advantage of its reporting, analysis and commentary from the lead-up through the aftermath of the 2016 election. Readers will have unlimited access to NYTimes.com for 72 hours from 12:01am ET on Monday 7 November until 11:59pm ET on Wednesday 9 November.

Singapore's The Straits Times will be covering the 2016 US presidential election "live", from the minute the polls open on Tuesday 8 November to the moment the winner is announced on Wednesday, Singapore time.
