KIIS FM Melbourne has announced the appointment of Alice James as executive producer of the breakfast show Jase and Lauren.

James, a born and bred Melbournian, will join the show in 2023, bringing her “strong leadership and black book of contacts will give the ‘Jase and Lauren’ show a new edge.”

Adrian Brine, KIIS 101.1’s content director, welcomed James’ appointment. “Alice is a highly skilled producer whose creativity, Melbourne knowledge and industry relationships will be an incredible asset to the “Jase and Lauren” show in 2023," he said in a report by Variety Australia.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Alice put her stamp on this show,” he added.

James said of her new role: “I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the “Jase and Lauren” team in 2023. There are not many people who I would get out of bed for at 4 a.m. – but these guys are it.

“I can’t wait to get amongst their contagious energy and help wake up Melbourne with a big morning KIIS.”

James’ appointment marks her return to radio, having previously served as EP of Triple M Adelaide’s Roo and Ditts for six years.

Following her radio stint, she returned to her hometown of Melbourne, joining Seven’s publicity team.

This comes as the recent Survey 8 of the radio ratings which saw Jase and Lauren, hosted by Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips have a fourth consecutive share over 7%.

Vitola has been with The Kyle & Jackie O Show since 2016 after winning the ‘World’s Best Job’ competition as a listener. He excelled at the role and in 2020 was promoted to senior producer.

Vitola will replace Sonia Jahshan who is finishing up with the show at the end of the year.
