• 96FM the new market leader with rock solid daytime shares
• Nova holds as breakfast and drive champ as Mix drops in all shifts

The ARN station has only cracked a 13% share twice in five years and both times it was this year. The first time in Survey 1 2020, 96FM still trailed Nova 10+. However, this time it sits at the top of the pile thanks to a #1 share in both morning and afternoon. Drive sits on 13.4% where it narrowly trails Nova. Breakfast with Botica’s Bunch is on 9.9% where it ranks #3 FM. 96FM has climbed to #1 40-54 and 55-64 this survey.

Not a lot of change this survey, just a small dip in afternoon and drive. Nova remains #1 in the latter with Kate, Tim and Joel on 14.2%. Breakfast still has a grip on top spot too where Nathan, Nat and Shaun haven’t been challenged for leadership in over 12 months.

Mix 94.5 12.0% (12.7%)

Cume 486,000 (-16,000)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 15.6% (10.9%)
Best breakfast 15.1% (10.5%)

It’s unusual to have a share on 12.0% and rank #3, but that is what happened to Mix this survey. There were only the slightest moves in share across the day with the biggest a rise of 0.4 in drive. There was a bigger move in share of listeners 40-54 where Mix went from #1 on 18.5%.

Hit 92.9 8.7% (8.7%)

Cume 450,000 (-14,000)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 10.7% (8.8%)
Best breakfast 9.6% (7.9%)

A lift of 1.1 in breakfast for Xavier, Juelz and Pete to 8.5% wasn’t able to stop them ranking #4 FM. Drive with Hughesy and Ed ranks #1 for the station with 10.4%.

6PR 8.6% (8.5%)

Cume 212,000 (+7,000)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 8.3% (6.9%)
Best breakfast 11.9% (8.9%)

Little movement in various dayparts here too with the outgoing Steve and Baz show holding just above 1% where it is equal #2 Perth breakfast. Shares 55-64 (+1.1 to 10.6%) and 65+ (+1.2 to 13.6%) were both up.

6iX 4.5% (5.3%)

Cume 148,000 (+5,000)
2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 5.2% (4.1%)
Best breakfast 4.6% (3.5%)

The biggest drop in the Perth market was driven by falls on 1.5 in morning and 1.9 in afternoon. All other dayparts were over 4% except weekends where it holds over 5%. Older demos took a hit with 65+ down 4.0 to 7.1%.
