Sam Snowden has joined DDB Melbourne in the newly created role of head of social and content. Snowden took to LinkedIn on Monday to share the news of his move from DDB Group Aotearoa New Zealand as its head of social.

"And just like that, he was slaying social & creating content at the speed of culture with Charlotte and Rosie at DDB Melbourne!" he wrote, referring to social creative Charlotte Funnell and personal branding consultant Rosie Chong.

Snowden then went on to thank Karen Sew Hoy, people experience director for New Zealand and Australia, Michael Napolitano, group managing director for Melbourne, Psembi Kinstan, group executive creative director at DDB Melbourne & Smith St, and Ella Ward, head of DDB group experience, for "gifting me with this epic Head of Social & Content opportunity."

Last month, Snowden shared news of his departure from the Group's New Zealand office and thanked the team for their creative work, support and unforgettable memories made during his two-year tenure with the agency.

"My time with our DDB Aotearoa whānau, past and present, is a precious taonga I will cherish and remember fondly," Snowden added on LinkedIn.

Mike Napolitano, group managing director, DDB Melbourne told Mediaweek that role was created, "to drive greater alignment across our clients and form a true centre of excellence for all social and content across the Group in Melbourne."

Said Napolitano: "We are thrilled to be welcoming Sam into the fold at DDB Group here in Melbourne and know he will bring great technical expertise and creativity to the team.
